Search is on for new senior hockey ownership

June 17 -- The search is on for new ownership to once again revive senior hockey in the city.

This comes about after the Thunder Bay Twins ownership group informed Hockey Northwestern Ontario that they were ceasing operations of both the senior hockey club as well as their Jr. A team, the K&A Wolverines, who abruptly departed the Superior International Junior Hockey League recently.

At least one group has shown some interest in icing a senior hockey club this season and are reportedly in discussions to see if they can make it work.

With the 2011 Allan Cup set for Kenora in April this would not make travel to the event much of an issue should they return and compete with the Fort Frances Thunderhawks to represent HNO along with the host Kenora Thistles at the national senior championship.
