Thunder Bay Jr. B/Juvenile/AAA Hockey Update
Come from behind victory for K&A

Dec. 2--The K&A Wolverines rallied from a 2-0 third period defecit Tuesday in Thunder Bay Jr. B/Juvenile/AAA Hockey League play at the Tournament Centre as they skated to a 5-2 come from victory over the Northern Hawks.

Chris Holomego's power play goal late in the first period gave the Hawks the lead after one period.

Neither team would muster any offence in the middle frame, which went scoreless.

Jordan Miller's effort 49 seconds into the third period put the Hawks up a pair, but it was all Wolverines after that.

Brent Winkworth got K&A going at 3:07 striking shorthanded to cut the margin in half.

Newly signed Ryan Helbling tied it with a man advantage marker at 5:08 while Sean Cunnighame buried the eventual game-winner with another power play tally two minutes later.

Another newcomer to the Wolverines roster in David Dawd added some insurance at 10:45 with a third straight marker during a man advantage and Nico Anderson would cap the comeback with K&A's fifth goal in just under 15 minutes of action.

Goaltender Cody Wood, playing in his first game in the league, made 26 saves to earn the win in his debut while Kirk Bodnar suffered the loss as he faced 48 shots in a losing cause.

League action continues Friday when the Superior Eagles travel to Nipigon to meet the Elks in a 7:30 p.m. start.
