Thunder Bay Jr. B/Juvenile/AAA Hockey Update
Kings top Elks 5-1

Nov. 28--The Mitsubishi Motors Kings used five different goal scorers en route to a 5-1 victory over the Nipigon Elks Friday in Thunder Bay Jr. B/Juvenile/AAA Hockey League action at Nipigon Arena.

The hometown Elks opened the scoring in this one as Brendan Jean beat Kings netminder Spencer Malone a couple minutes into the contest.

Two goals just over a minute apart would give the visiting AAA major midget side the lead after the first period as Justin Veltri and Matt Kaarela both scored on Nipigon starter Curtis Lampkin.

Spencer Hogan's unassisted effort at 12:07 of the second period was the only marker in the middle frame.

The Kings would add third period tallies by Sam Dubinsky and Mitchell Fox to wrap-up the scoring on the night.

Malone would make 37 saves in picking up the win on goal for the Kings while Lampkin in the Elks net was peppered with 76 shots.

Next up on the league schedule sees the K&A Wolverines and Northern Hawks tangling Tuesday evening at the Thunder Bay Tournament Centre. Game time is 8 p.m.
