Thunder Bay Jr. B/Juvenile/AAA Hockey Update
3-point night for Carne in Eagles win

Nov. 15--Jordan Carne tallied twice and added an assist pacing the Superior Eagles to a 5-3 victory over the K&A Wolverines Saturday in Thunder Bay Jr. B/Juvenile/AAA Hockey League play at Marathon Arena.

James Kane put the visiting Wolverines up 1-0 five minutes into the contest only to see Carne strike on the power play six minutes later to pull the teams level after the first period.

After Luke DeCal gave the Wolverines the lead early in the middle stanza Carne once again brought his team back to even with his sixth of the season.

Jake O'Nabigon gave the Eagles their first lead midway through the frame while Carne set-up Tyler Megan in the final minute of the period to give the AAA midget side a two-goal cushion after 40 minutes.

The two teams would exchange goals late in the third period with Chris Salmi scoring into the empty net for the Eagles and Sean Spenrath for K&A.

Markus Leikkari made 36 saves in picking up the win in net for the Eagles while Davis Buchanan suffered the loss allowing four goals on 21 shots in two periods of work before giving way to Jordan George in the third as he faced eight shots.

The teams will wrap-up their three-game weekend set Sunday afternoon back in Marathon at 1 p.m.
