Thunder Bay Jr. B/Juvenile/AAA Hockey Update
Kings top Hawks

Nov. 12--Three third period goals a minute and five seconds apart proved to be the difference as the Mitsubishi Motors Kings skated to a 4-1 victory over the Northern Hawks Wednesday in Thunder Bay Jr. B/Juvenile/AAA Hockey League action at Fort William First Nation Arena.

Following a scoreless opening period the Kings Todd Skirving beat Michael Skirving late in the middle frame to give the major midgets the lead after 40 minutes.

Joey Szura increased the lead to 2-0 at 6:11 of the third period. Sam Dubinsky then tallied 20 seconds later while Mitchell Fox struck 45 seconds after that to give the Kings a commanding lead.

Riley Cervan would break Spencer Malone's shutout bid with the Hawks lone marker with under seven minutes remaining with the final goal of the night.

Shots on goal favoured the Kings 33-24 on the night.

League play continues Friday on two fronts. The Hawks travel to Nipigon to meet the Elks at 7:30 p.m. while the K&A Wolverines head to Marathon to begin a three-game weekend set against the Superior Eagles. That contest gets underway at 8 p.m.
