Thunder Bay Jr. B/Juvenile/AAA Hockey Update
Northern Hawks edge Wolverines

Nov. 4--Chris Bewski's goal late in the second period stood up to be the game-winner as the Northern Hawks edged the K&A Woverines 4-3 in Thunder Bay Jr. B/Juvenile/AAA Hockey League play Tuesday evening at the Tournament Centre.

Former K&A forward Justin Backor opened the scoring against his former team five minutes into the contest striking on the power play.

Matt McClellen gave the Hawks a 2-0 lead four minutes later for the other other goal of the first period. He would add his second of the night at 3:56 of the middle frame before Myles Stevens got the Wolverines on the board striking shorthanded at 8:21.

Tom Kane added a man advantage marker with 1:36 left in the second to pull K&A closer, but Bewski restored the two-goal cushion a minute later.

Luke DeCal brought the Wolverines to within one with five minutes left in the game, but that's as close as they would get in this one.

Kirk Bodnar made 38 saves to pick up the win between the pipes for the Hawks while Davis Buchanan suffered the loss facing 23 shots.

League action resumes Friday as K&A heads to Nipigon for the 7:30 p.m. game vs. the home town Elks.
