March 4--Rory Romano and Ryan McInerney both had four points apiece helping the Northern Hawks handle the Nipigon Elks 8-1 Tuesday in Thunder Bay Jr. B/Juvenile/AAA Hockey League play at the Tournament Centre.

Romano potted the game's first two goals in the first period while McInerney added another as the Hawks skated to a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes.

Stefano Lento struck shorthanded three minutes into the second stanza while Michael Vis added another marker a few minutes later.

The Elks Kevin Thiessen then snapped Kirk Bodnar's shutout bid at 8:56 of the frame with an unassisted effort.
