Nov. 30--Ben Gamche scored four times including the winner with 37 seconds left and added two assists leading the Superior Eagles to a 6-5 victory over the Nipigon Elks in Thunder Bay Jr. B/Juvenile/AAA Hockey League action Friday evening at Nipigon Arena.
Gamache set-up the first two Eagles goals by Cam Gross and Jordan Carne and then potted the next four for his club.
Mike Ray, Evan Stewart, George McKay, Kevin Thiessen and Travis Komar, who tied it with just 59 seconds remaining, had the Nipigon goals. Stewart and Komar also had two assists apiece in the game.
Mike Trichilo picked up the win in net for the Eagles facing 33 shots while Davis Buchanan made 53 saves in a losing cause for the Elks.
League play resumes Tuesday as the Northern Hawks host the North End Flames in an 8 p.m. start at the Tournament Centre.
