Nov. 18--The Nipigon Elks were victorious over the North End Flames while the Superior Eagles and K&A Wolverines tied for a second straight game in Thunder Bay Jr. B/Juvenile/AAA Hockey League action on Sunday.
In Nipigon's 12-5 win over the Flames at Delaney Arena Travis Komar scored four times and dished out three assists to pace the Elks attacks. George McKay also added four goals while Mitch Joyce chipped in with four helpers to help the cause.
Conor Chappelle, Gilles Chikane, Mike Jackovic and Chris Cornelius provided the other Nipigon markers.
Kyle Halley, with a pair, Kameron Kuzyk, Matt Raynak and Taylor Riley replied for North End.
Davis Buchanan faced 30 shots in picking up the win in net for Nipigon while Mac Potter and Andrew Biscardi both saw time in goal for the Flames.
Earlier in the day
saw Ben Gamache's power play tally with 4:41 remaining lifted the Eagles into a 4-4 tie against the visiting Wolverines in Marathon.
Dallas Allaire, Cam Gross and Giiwedin Kakegabon also scored for the Eagles in the draw while Mike Trichilo made 38 saves in net.
Larry Johanson, Brent Winkworth, Sean Spenrath and David Renzi provided the offence for the first place Wolverines as Jason Jaundoo faced 39 shots in goal.
Jr. B/Juvenile/AAA league play continues Thursday as Nipigon travel to Thunder Bay to meet K&A in a 7:30 p.m. start at the Tournament Centre.
