Nov. 6 —Adrian Cordes scored twice and dished out two assists leading the K&A Wolverines to a 5-1 victory over the Northern Hawks Tuesday in Thunder Bay Jr. B/Juvenile/AAA Hockey League play at the Tournament Centre.
Sean Spenrath opened the scoring 3:23 into the contest while Justin Backor increased the lead to 2-0 before the first period was completed.
David Renzi had the lone goal in the middle stanza giving K&A a three-goal cushion after 40 minutes.
Cordes then tallied twice in the final frame sandwiched around a
Rory Romano marker for the Hawks to wrap up the scoring on the night.
Kelly Heikkila faced 27 shots in earning the win on goal for the Wolverines who improved to 8-0-1 on the season. Kirk Bodnar had 40 stops in a losing cause for the Hawks who saw their record fall to 4-2-2.
The next league game is scheduled for Sunday at Delaney Arena as the North End Flames host the Hawks in an 8 p.m. start.
