Wolverines remain unbeaten

Oct. 28--The K&A Wolverines remain unbeaten in Thunder Bay Jr. B/Juvenile/AAA Hockey League play skating to a 5-1 win over the visiting Superior Eagles Sunday afternoon at the Tournament Centre.

Tyler Rizzuto, with a pair, Sean Spenrath, David Renzi and Adrian Cordes tallied for K&A who won their sixth game in as many starts.

Steve McParland had the lone marker for the AAA midget Eagles who saw their record slip to 1-3-1.

Kelly Heikkila
made 24 stops in recording the win in goal for the Wolverines while Mike Trichilo suffered the loss facing 31 shots.

It was the second straight weekend setback for the Eagles who fell 6-2 to the Northern Hawks on Saturday night.

The Hawks had six different goal scorers in the match as Brian Sippila, Rory Romano, Ryan McInerney, Ryan Beese, Curtis Sandberg and Mario Figliomeni all lit the lamp.

Kyle Bruekelman and Ben Gamache had the Eagles markers.

Kirk Bodnar picked up the win between the pipes stopping 32 shots while Markus Leikkari was saddled with the loss as he faced 33 pucks fired on net.

League action resumes Tuesday as the top two clubs in the league meet in an 8 p.m. start at the Tournament Centre with the Hawks (4-1-1) hosting the Wolverines (6-0).
